Things Most People Want to Know About El Paso

Is it safe?

El Paso is consistently rated as one of the safest cities in America. Many people falsely believe that El Paso is a dangerous place because of it's proximity to Juarez, Mexico. It is true that Juarez has been ravaged by violence between competing drug cartels. This is absolutely true and tragic for the citizens of Juarez.

While our thoughts, prayers, and hearts go out to the people of Juarez, the violence there does not flow into El Paso. As you can imagine, there is a very strong law enforcement presence in El Paso (local law enforcement, Borders and Customs Patrol, FBI, CIA, armed services, Ft. Bliss, etc). El Paso is fortunate to enjoy a very low crime rate, a loving and kind community, great schools, and a growing economy.

El Paso is an extraordinary city that is full of life and passion. A great place to raise a young family or settle down in retirement. The city is affordable, friendly, and rich with arts and culture.

Is it affordable?

In 2018, El Paso was ranked No. 1, as the city with the lowest cost of living by Forbes Magazine. Forbes put out a list of 13 cities where you can live comfortably on less than $60,000 a year, and El Paso was sitting right at the top!
